Some Misrepresentation of What Meditation is!

Meditation is a posture that requires the meditator to be still and focus the mind beyond the critical thinking edge. Dahn Yoga meditation is gaining popularity even in the nontraditional society such as Europe and Americas. This is largely because of the proved scientific benefits. Just like other eastern cultures such as Yoga, you this practice is finding way into Americas and Europe or Australia pretty fast.

This growing popularity is definitely a welcomed thing though it comes with the fear of commercialization. More often than not, when people start to hawk a lifestyle, it misses the essential elements in it and does not deliver on what was originally expected. This is why this article will begin by providing information on what is not meditation.

It has been suggested by other trainers that meditation is a process of engaging the mind in deep thought that involves contemplation. This is obviously not true because to meditate is to go beyond the deep mental inquiry. It is to commune with the deepest of the thought process. While this may be similar to the process of contemplation, it differs from mere contemplation by allowing the meditator to get to understand the purpose for living.

Others have also misleadingly said that meditation is a keen to the hypnosis. Hypnosis is often considered as mind control. It involves programing the brain and not allowing it to go beyond some thought process. This is not true of meditation which instead allows the brain to relax and take a deeper understanding of itself.

Still there are those who have said that meditation is limited to certain religions. While it is true that most religions practice meditation, it is not true that this practice is limited to religious groups. Today, there are many people who have chosen to practice meditation and other related practices such as yoga. In fact, there is evidence that the when one is involved in meditating, they have a better quality of life than those who do not. The fact that you become more aware of self also means that you are able to understand the situations around you and therefore in better control.

Meditation is not also a promise for instant peace as is the case of taking medicines. It is instead it a practice that requires that the meditator takes time to practice. You will only realize success with after much practice and perseverance. This makes it far different from the purported quick fix that you will find advertised alongside the other alternative medicine. This has the benefit of having sustained benefits unlike the other quick fix such as nervous treatment.

Therefore before fall into the trap of hot air, you need to need to be equipped with the facts.
