Meditate Daily – 1 Way to Do it the Easy Way

Why We Should Meditate Daily

With the world seeming to get more stressful, it’s becoming ever so more important to learn to detach yourself from the stresses of the world and be able to relax and quiet your mind. I’m sure that many of you can agree that one of the most frustrating things we put up with is our mind seeming to go at a million miles per hour with thoughts popping in from every direction possible.

Generally they are useless thoughts coming in for no apparent reason. And the worst part is that they just seem to keep repeating themselves. I remember reading an article about thoughts and it mentioned that 70% of a person’s thoughts are repetitive. I can certainly agree with that when I take a step back and begin to monitor my thoughts. I suggest you try and do the same. It really is quite eye opening when you stop and observe.

With this being a major problem for me to the extent that I would lay in my bed staring at the ceiling and having difficulty getting to sleep, I got to the stage where, enough was enough. So I started to check online what sort of things I can use to help ‘quieten my mind’. The overwhelming majority of sources told me that to meditate daily was the number one thing to do. So the next question was, “how do I meditate daily?” Whilst there are no hard and fast rules, it generally requires a lot of discipline and will power. Something that I generally don’t have.

What I found…

I wanted something that was easy and quick. I can be a bit lazy like that sometimes and I didn’t want to wait 6 months before I could start to see the effect. I wanted something for now. So doing a little more research on the net, I came across a number of meditation CDs and mp3s that you can listen to for help with meditating. I downloaded a couple of them, and whilst they were nice to listen to, I felt my mind continuing to wonder and still have these never ending stream of thoughts. So there I was, back researching what other things were out there until I came across this very well reviewed product.

It was called the ‘Brain Evolution System’. It make a whole host of promises including the ability to increase your capacity to learn, jump start creativity, solve problems in a fraction of the time and enjoy limitless energy & motivation. But the biggest catch phrase was that it was an easy way to meditate daily. It seemed a little too good to be true, but it came with a free trial, so I thought to myself, why not, let’s give it a go. I have been using it for 2 months now and can honestly say that I find myself not having the mindless chatter in my mind like I used to and I feel a whole lot more relaxed as well. I even manage to fall asleep so quickly, it’s not funny.

To use the system, all I do is slip on a pair of stereo headphones (it’s important that they’re stereo) for half an hour each day, sit back and relax. That simple. These are the sorts of products I like. Quick, easy and results in a short period of time. So, if you’re like me and looking for an easy way to meditate daily, then I suggest you give this system a try.

I hope this article has been helpful to you and wish you all the best in being able to meditate daily.

5 Tips to Help You Meditate

Meditation has been proven to have significant benefits. Regular meditation can help you reduce stress, sleep better, and be more spiritually aware. Some people find it hard to start a regular meditation practice though because most people are running around busily all day long and don’t usually take time to sit down and relax. But if you really want to improve your health and manage your stress you need to make it a priority to start meditating regularly. These tips can help you make meditation a regular part of your life:
1. Schedule a time to meditate – If you tell yourself that you will get around to meditating after the kids are in bed or that you’ll get up early and meditate before work chances are good that you won’t actually do it. You need to schedule a time to meditate the same way that you would schedule a doctor’s appointment or other commitment. You are making a commitment to yourself and your health. So set aside a block of time, even if it’s just 15 minutes, during the day when you can meditate.

2. Go slowly – When you’re used to running around all the time and not used to sitting still and quieting your mind and body it can be difficult to do. So don’t force yourself to meditate for long periods of time at the beginning of your meditation practice. Start by just closing you eyes and breathing deeply for a minute or two. Then go to five minutes. Then try 10 minutes. Build up the amount of time that you meditate slowly and let your body get used it.

3. Let go of your conscious thoughts – When you are trying to meditate and you find yourself thinking about all the tasks you have left to do that day or wondering if you remembered to pay the phone bill don’t focus on those thoughts. Take a deep breath and just let them go. If you start focusing on those thoughts instead of meditating you will break your concentration.

4. Create a special place to meditate – This can be something as elaborate as an entire room set aside just for meditation or it can be as simple as a special shelf in a closet holding a special candle that you sit in front of. No matter how little space you think you have you can carve out a little niche for yourself that will be your special place to relax.

5. Use props to help you meditate – You can’t force yourself to sit and relax, but you can use props that will help you relax and mediate. Buy a special scented candle that you burn only during meditation. Light some incense. Buy a plant that you love and keep it in your meditation space. Turn on some music that you find very soothing and relaxing.

Walking Meditation: A Simple Way To Meditate Almost Any Time

Most Westerners think of meditation as someone sitting down, cross legged with their eyes closed and probably chanting some kind of mantra over and over again.

But that is only one of the ways that people can practice meditation.

Meditating can also be performed standing up, lying down or walking.

Today, we’re going to look at walking meditation. In this situation, the walking itself is the focus of your meditation, rather than a candle or a mantra or your breathing.

Obviously, depending on where the walking is taking place, you may also need to be aware of other external influences as well, such as joggers and cyclists.

In a walking meditation, you should concentrate on the actual experience of walking. Notice the pressure on each foot as it touches the ground and the relief of that pressure as your foot rises again. Take in the experience of the muscles in your legs. Notice when they tense up and when they relax. Feel the changes in your toes as they meet the ground. Recognize what is happening to your ankles as you walk along.

As well as the stress relief that a walking meditation naturally brings, you should also experience a feeling of energy and invigoration. Walking is a more active meditation than some other types (although breathing meditations can get pretty energetic as well, if you choose to let them). You also benefit from the exercise of walking, which is an aerobic exercise in itself. It follows that a walking meditation can be of overall benefit to your health and can even help keep you fit.

If the thought of sitting or lying down to meditate has put you off in the past, then taking the walking meditation course could be just the ticket. Give it a try and see how refreshed you feel afterwards!

While you’re walking, you could also be doing a breathing meditation. Find out much more about meditating at learn about meditation.
